Mary (Mary Hunter) and I (Jenny Bond) have
both had premature babies on Nottingham University Hospital
Neonatal Units, Mary at the QMC and I at the City hospital. We
met through fundraising for the unit and have since become great
friends sharing a passion for supporting the units to be able
to further help families and their tiny, premature and/or sick
babies from the limited government funding they have.
On a personal level, although we have both had different
challenges in our pregnancies, we both went through similar
traumatic and emotional experiences in our time on the neonatal
unit and beyond and that's why we are keen to help support
the charity/units to be able to do more for families that go
through one of the most frightening times in their lives.
We are both unbelievably enthusiastic about organising this
year's charity ball! Like children in a sweet shop- we just
can't help ourselves! We really want to make it a huge success
and would like to say a massive thank you to our friends and
family for supporting us, our sponsors, and to those who have
donated their time and services to help make a difference. All
profits raised will go to the Nottingham Neonatal Service
Trust. This is the third year running for the charity ball and
as always in addition to our sponsorship and donators we rely
heavily on ticket sales. Of course we have people that attend
the ball each year but we need new people to come and join us
and see just what a fantastic night it is and what a great
feeling to be part of it and raising funds for such a special
cause.
